An update

Well, here we are, in May.

To be honest, I would have thought the final editing would have been done on Monkey Business, but things don't always happen the way we think they will, right?

As soon as my editor submits the final draft to me, I will be uploading it to Createspace (the online publisher I've chosen) and finalizing the book details as quick as my fingers can type.

In the meantime, between working at my normal job and helping to raise my daughter, I've been keeping busy by working on Alphabet Dreams (my children's picture book that was hinted at in my previous post). I've been shopping it around to literary agents and publishers, with a few bites here and there. The artwork is all cut paper collage, and below are the illustrations I completed for the first six letters of the alphabet.

Enjoy!

Book #2 is in the works...

My second book shall be quite different from my first.

I've gone from nonfiction to fiction, from animal rights to the alphabet, from a book more suitable for higher education to one that will best appeal to the preschool crowd: I've written a children's book (and illustrated it too!)

The entire book will be illustrated in assemblages of cut paper. Here's a sneak peek...

Crowns and crabs, cooking carrot cupcakes and driving yellow cabs :)

Getting closer!

Well, it's been a little while, and I finally have some news!

The cover of Monkey Business is complete and just as gorgeous as I had hoped it would be:

Also, the book is in the final stage of editing, after having already completed a first stretch with my editor and a read-through from me. It's been polished and cleaned up and I would imagine not many changes will be made on the final editing sweep.

Just think...this baby will be in print soon!
